It’s Self Paced!

Level 1: repetitive drills performed at half speed, simple choreography, low kicks to knee level only

Level 2: “layers” are added to drills for more variation, performed to tempo, kicks raise to waste level after proper form is mastered

Level 3: for the advanced practitioner or athlete, variations other than low impact options are given

Class Philosophy


We respect other disciplines and certifications. We respect the prior experience of kickboxing instructors. We offer additional resources.


Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. Purposefulness and organization in presentation is the goal.


Creativity comes with confidence. My goal is to give instructors confidence in the basics so that making up choreography flows for them.

Thanks to Mr. Tommy Crouch who gave us some awesome training at WholyFit’s Kickboxing Certification this weekend! Tommy Crouch is a 6th degree Black Belt in Chun Kuk Do, and is also a Certified WholyFit Instructor.

Check out the technique portion of the seminar (above) to see what we are visualizing when we put knees into our Kickboxing class choreography! This certification will provide great insight and training.


At the end of this course instructors will be able to:

  1. Teach authentic martial arts technique and form in your kickboxing group exercise class which adheres to safety recommendations of AFAA and ACSM specific to group exercise.
  2. Build authentic fighting combinations based on real martial arts concepts and work them into your group exercise choreography.
  3. Use appropriate tempo for each segment of your class to maximize form, power and intensity
  4. Use choreography blocking to your advantage in order to make your cueing easy to follow by working inside music metering consisting of 32 count measures composed of four 8 count bars.
  5. Give a multi-level class by modifying all movements for general population participants in level 1, 2, or 3.
  6. Explore the creative use of downbeats and upbeats for creating fun, original combinations.
  7. Build your program attendance by exhibiting unity and consistency of terminology between instructors.
